In my mind, only if it means running an alcohol swab in the chamber and barrel and keeping grease from the underside of a bolt action. That “class” should take about 5 minutes max. If they mean, removing grease from all parts and re-lubing the parts appropriately with new grease/oil, that could be longer but it isn’t something that should take a “class”. Makes no sense to me unless it is a class on how to remove cosmoline from a Mosin Nagant. I see no other need for a class on how to remove “grease” from a firearm. | |||

There are a surprising number of shooters who are really uncomfortable with taking their guns apart to clean. As a part time armorer for a shooting school, I see a fair number of these guns. These folks simply shoot em until they quit working and then I get them. I clean and lube and send them back. When I show folks how to field strip, they always seem grateful. Ymmv.... | |||

This, I totally understand! And I’ve seen it more than a few times. But calling it a “Degreaser Class”? Ummmm, no.
