One of the biggest influences on who I am today passed away just before 4pm.
He had a massive stroke last Friday.
He taught me to fly.
He taught me to let things go.
My wife called him her favorite uncle.
I'll miss him a lot.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

I'm sorry to hear that, SC. I remember meeting an older gentleman with a .41 Magnum S&W on his hip when we shot with you. Was that Uncle Bill?

He certainly was a man's man for sure.

Grew up impoverished, went into the military in WWII, was an aircraft mechanic in the Navy, graduated top of his class from GA Tech from the GI Bill.

Worked at Lockheed his whole career on top secret projects.

Loved to go out into the wilderness of Idaho for weeks with his boys to hunt Antelope and bear.

There was never a time he was without an airplane or two or three.

Had some spots in some movies.

Can't was not in his vocabulary.

That was our brother, Richard. Or pawn shop brother as we refer to him here.

Uncle Bill kinda stayed close to the house and watched us from afar as he gorged himself of my BBQ and tater salad.

My condolences, Marzy. I do think we met him, and you are right, that was a righteous feed.

I'm sorry you lost such a great guy. Those old school do everything guys are getting pretty thin on the ground these days. We have a real job in front of us filling their shoes, and transmitting all of that knowledge to the next generation.
