Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

It's not like you have to feed them twice a day, or clean up after them.

(Plus, as stated, he has rental properties, and also looks out for his neighbors. So they're not all for 1 house...)

But it's definitely smart for anyone to have at least one spare capacitor and contactor on hand, as they're the most likely thing to go out on a hot summer day, and they're easy to fix yourself if you're even a little handy and/or have access to Youtube.

No, my least favorite time of the year is Summer, hate July & August. Can't wait for Fall!

I seem to always be in the minority, but, though this winter has been pretty mild in TampaBay, I like it at least 85 and closer to 90 is fine with me.

Best part of living here, for me, is that it never actually reaches 100.

My sweet wife, OTOH, a Pennsylvania Yankee gal, loves the cool weather and suffers in the summer. She loves an opportunity to visit friends in PA or NM or to meet somewhere in between.

I was ready for summer in October! Smile

I also prefer warm/hot temps to winter cold, I loathe the cold. Even though it is not my favorite temp zone, I would rather have 100 degree days than 25-35 ones.

Woke up to snow on the ground after it being so warm for four days. I don’t remember having such whiplash weather.

I have a love-hate relationship with summer. I really enjoy gardening and putting up food for the winter, so spring and early summer are a good time of year. Once the heat gets cranked up though in late July and August, I'm done. I cannot stand the heat. Anything over 80 and I'm indoors and praying for the arrival of Fall. Another thing I hate about summer is being on the western edge of the time zone and having it still be light until almost 2300. Drives me crazy.

That’s a good call. My AC doesn’t have a contactor, but all my rentals do. Mine has some type of Emerson logic board, and if that goes, I’ll need a pro.
The compressor and fan is controlled from the logic board ?

Brownest winter ever here, grass field ,trees .
Real sick of brown.

Not much white this winter at all.
Ready for some green , not necessarily hot heat and humidity.

Spring would be fine.
And not ready for planting season

Yes. It looks something like this:

Or maybe this one. I’m working from memory.

People who look forward to Houston's summer are mentally ill.

I'd take 364 more days like today - 81, sunny, 0 to 7 mph wind, and 50% humidity.

I absolutely HATE Summer in Texas. We skip Fall and Spring every year. We are basically in the begin of Summer hell now and it will only get worse. Other than that, I love Texas!

As soon as I bought capacitors for my mom’s AC system, the units went out and had to be changed so now those capacitors are useless at least for her.
