Very neat. An experience those kids will hopefully never forget and carry with them the rest of their lives. My daughter was fortunate enough to be selected as one of 4 from her school to place a wreath on their trip to DC in June. I posted a thread about if but have no clue how to post a video of it.

Thanks for posting this Rightwire.

A nice counterbalance to all the snowflake-safe space poison going through our education system today.

I was selected for this as a kid on our schools DC trip. It’s been over 20 years now and I haven’t forgotten how humbling and amazing it was to be able to do that. I agree and hope it’s the same for your daughter and these kids.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the honor and respect shown to the legions of American war dead who were unidentifiable, is one of the proudest traditions of this country's military. A trip to Arlington is a must for all proud Americans. Thank you

Went last spring with the wife and kids. Spent a week in and around Washington visiting with wife’s uncle who was just getting ready to retire out of civil service in the Pentagon. Arlington and the changing of the guard / wreath laying was one of, if not THE high point of the entire week. Darned if there wasn’t something in the air though that was really hard on people’s eye’s. There might have been a dry eye or two, but they were darned sure in the minority.

If you've never been to Arlington, I suggest you make the trip for the changing of the guard/wreath. I take it for granted living right here, went as a kid as field trips and with my grandpa. Haven't been in years.

Great job by the kids, and the tomb guards.

Yeah, as usual, screen got blurry, but it always does when I hear taps.

It might prove to be interesting to look up the history of Taps, and when it was first played.

I read about it in reader's digest, coincidentally, while attending 5th army NCO Academy.

Truly moving.

When we went to Washington I took my kids to Arlington and explained the Tomb. We had a great uncle who was MIA in WWII and could be there.

We took the kids to The Wall also to visit my old friends. They are all grown now and are good Americans. I am proud of them all.

I know it would be impossible to do but that should be required for every school kid that goes to public school.

A little perspective wouldn't hurt young minds.
