MRMATTEartquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis - what a morning!
Then the grandkids wanted to know about solar flares, EMPs, helium and various planets. As a retired scientist, I was loving it. "Titanic" plates are all the nine year old boy wants to discuss, but it's still a bit over his head. My granddaughter and I built an electromagnet from an old 12v battery and a 12p nail. Next, the five year old boy "launched" a helium-filled balloon into the sky, which they all observed until it was out of sight. Finally, the wife took them around back to view a warren filled with baby bunnies; then she fed them all ice-cream. Not a bad morning at all.
