Whew... 2 hours including resetting all the WinAero Tweaker settings and configuring the Win 10 restore point function. There may be other nitnoids I'll catch as time goes along. Wish I let it update during the wee morning hours. Just didn't expect it to take this long. This on a i5-4440 3.1GHz CPU, 8 GB DDR3-1600, 1 TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD machine. Hence this post as an advisory to others. Certifiable member of the gun toting, septuagenarian, bucket list workin', crazed retiree, bald is beautiful club! USN (RET), COTEP #192

I updated my Win 10 Pro-64 bit machine a few days ago. Took about 35 minutes, but this new build is pretty powerful and the OS is installed on a quick NVMe drive. After the update I noticed that my HP Color LasetJet Pro MFP479fdw reverted to using the Universal Print Driver rather than the more feature-rich HP device-specific driver it was using before I installed 2004. Apparently this is a known issue. Yesterday Microsoft released (and I installed) THIS NEW UPDATE, and now I am able to use the device-specific driver again. THIS ARTICLE has links to the updates for the various versions of Win 10 if anyone else is having printing issues. Note that the updates are not being provided through Windows Update.

hmm, my 'pc' updated to 2004 quietly on the 28th. That's only notable because it's a VM on top of UnRaid that wouldn't update at all & i fought with for 2+ years before I replaced the AMD video card with a cheapie Nvidia & now it gives me no trouble. (AMD card had a known issue with VMs, but I bought it before that was known to me).
