Arizona Border Recon is a non-government organization. We are not affiliated with any form of government, nor are we a militia. Our objective is not to overthrow any government, or take the law into our own hands. We are not here to replace the Border Patrol. We operate within the scope of the law as citizens, by observing and reporting what we see. We take the law very seriously, and to that end we ensure our members are knowledgeable in the applicable areas of law that govern civil rights, use of force, citizens arrest and many more. This ensures our members are acting appropriately, are safe, and provides for the individuals we come into contact with by affording them the same humane and civil treatment.
I'm not sure how AZBR obtained this video, perhaps it was posted online, but according to the video description this video is of armed cartel members driving past an Arizona State Trooper's traffic stop.
I saw that video about a week before I moved down here. It did give me a brief “am I making a really big mistake?” moment of reflection. Of course, then I decided to watch Sicario for the first time. I’m a 10-20 minute drive East of that fictional neighborhood area in the first scene. Also a moment of doubt.
Last weekend, my wife and I went to Chandler to look at a used appliance place, because the house we rented didn’t come with a washer and dryer. Anyway, it was closed and the neighborhood was really sketchy looking, so I pulled out and turned around in a gas station parking lot. About half dozen wets bum-rushed my truck! First guy held out a peace sign and smiled and started after the truck when I pulled in and started my turn, and four or five of his buddies started in behind him. My first thought was “they saw the truck and they think I’m looking for a work crew. Sucks for them.” But as I continued my turn, I watched them in the rear view and one of them whipped something at the truck (and missed), and the guys with him were at a dead sprint at us. Pulled out into the street and continued on out of there. I was really glad we didn’t have to wait for traffic, that had potential to be a problem.
So yes, the border is, uh… not secure here, and we have problems. I have little doubt the cartel is all over the whole greater Phoenix area. I didn’t go anywhere unarmed before, and that hasn’t changed now.

Yeah, I'm not so certain as to its authenticity. The truly dangerous cartel members don't do anything to draw attention to themselves or risk getting popped on some lightweight hassle with the police. Add in the lack of tats, the chest rig and the whitebread clothing and you probably have a bunch of SW border cops headed out to serve a warrant, though a Barrett wouldn't be my first choice of entry gun. It would certainly beat spike strips for stopping a car.
Generally speaking, there is so much hype about the SW border from all sides, if info doesn't come from the El Paso Intelligence Center I take it with a grain of salt.

I was a bit skeptical when I first watched the video too, and had considered the possibility that they were LEO... but, and admittedly I'm not a LEO, how many LEOs roll with loose guns in the cab? Besides the long gun with the muzzle brake he's got another long gun (SBR?) in his left hand, and I count at least 2 Glocks laying on the console, with no holsters... and, I could be wrong here, but wouldn't a LEO team on the way to serving a warrant or conducting a high risk stop have the music radio turned off, or at least the volume turned down, so that they could listen to some sort of tac radio comms, coordinating the activity?
Also, unless a LEO team was on a planned raid or stop and had a schedule to keep, I would think they would pull over and assist the State Trooper with his stop.
Not a great sweep of the cab interior by whoever was recording, but I didn't notice any extra equipment, no radios, light/ siren controls, or computer mounted to the dash either.
Unless these were some sort of high risk undercover LEO team that were fans of The Shield, I'm not sure they were actual LEOs.
Rewatching the video, I just noticed a transparent water mark across the middle of it, but I can't make it out. Can anyone read that?

You would be surprised who stupid these professional criminals are. When I was stationed in Hawaii, there was a Yakuza (Japanese Mob) who was caught with a four shot rocket launcher (remember the one that Arnie used in Commando) in his car.
Yeah, in St. Louis, if that vehicle was a Hyundai or Kai, it would be gone in seconds. If it was a Honda or Toyota, the it would have been broken into and the catalytic converter cut off. If it was a Mercedes or BMW, it would be gone as they were gassing up at the pumps.
