That's a not a Corvette. I don't care what label they put on it.

Which end is the front?

Is there some law that requires the back be tall? I miss the graceful back deck of the C1s and C2s.

This is an artist rendering correct? GM would never actually create such a odd and exotic looking vehicle would they?

There will be 2 corvettes. One the traditional front engine, and another limited edition mid engine. Kinda stupid to call them both corvettes.

The new mid engine vette will also be a dual power awd hybrid with electric motors driving the front wheels like the Porsche 918.

Second. Everything up to this point has said that yes, there will be two models in parallel. The current 7th gen will run through 2024, and the mid engine will likely be a limited run ZR1 edition, but no mention on hybrid powertrains...

Most coupes have the gas filler on the passenger side which is where I like it. You can pull plenty close to the pump since you don't have to worry about your door hitting those goofy islands they all seem to have.

I'll try to source it if I can find it. Supposedly variations of the chevy volt engines.

Here's an artist's rendition that I think could be close. The story is from Road and Track.com, the picture is from C&D.

It's just another artist's rendition from the automotive press, I just think this one is closer to reality than the rendition in the OP. I wouldn't waste too much time lambasting them for the styling cues you're seeing. AFAIK the only photos have been of highly camouflaged mids; no one has captured one unveiled. Alfa grill?

the v shaped license plate area is similar to an alfa style grill opening, it's nothing more than someone taking popular parts from existing supercars and making up a mock drawing.

Nothing wrong with it but that's what I see..

You can thank crash test standards for that. Every vehicle is like that now, it's important that you can barely survive getting rear ended by a train going 120 mph after all.

why? I think it's great hitting the short lines at the costco pumps.

Most new pumps nowadays can reach either side of the car. There is no good reason for the gas tank fill to be on the opposite side of the driver's side door. I hate when it is as well.

Many years ago, my dad had a car with the gas cap behind the rear license plate. The first time my mom drove it, she ended up in near hysterics because she couldn't figure out where to fill it.

At the time it was less funny than it seemed later.

My first car was a 1971 Pontiac T-37 which also had the gas cap behind the rear license plate. There was a time or two in NJ where the gas pump attendant needed help finding it.

I read that these were later considered to be unsafe in a rear end collision.
