konata88Wow!!! Doesn't look like a vette at all. Would prefer less nose in ahead of the front wheels though. Like the back -- keep it tight.
Like it. But I don't like gas on the passenger side. Not sure why they do that but I hate it.

why? I think it's great hitting the short lines at the costco pumps.

JJexpNot the new Corvette. That's just one of many strange concepts that the automotive media have conjured up.

The move to mid-engine will be radical enough. That artist's concept pays no homage to the seven previous generations of Corvettes. The new one will have to project some sense of continuity.

Especially for the LX, I think it's not very security friendly. Driver's seat is not as readily defensible. I can understand why it might be on that side for a Japanese car but don't prefer it. It's also easier to align to the nozzle with the gas on the driver's side; need to look over the shoulder for the passenger side on the LX.

FenrisI like the 2017 Corvette. In red of course.
I wish it had a skosh more room. I feel like a whale in a sardine can.

I'm sure it will. They've done a pretty good job of keeping the Corvette a Corvette, and in nearly every case the conceptual artists have gotten it wrong. I've owned 4 generations of the car, and while I haven't always appreciated the new styling cues initially, they all screamed Corvette once I've gotten to know them a bit.
I imagine that the mid-engine will be some sort of hybridized version of the C6 and C7 in terms of styling, and I can't wait to see what they've done with it, even if I wont ever be able to afford it.

HRKMid engine corvette rumors have been going on since the 60's, unless some wild government regulation comes along, or, in order to keep up with the hybrid-gas hyper car market you need a mid engine the Corvettes going to be a front engine car.
The first Mid Engine concept vette was the CERV 1 built in 1964 designed by Zora Arkus-Duntov with Bill Mitchell the head of design, eventually called the Astro II

P250UA5Theory I'd read is that the Corvette stays FR & the ZR1 gets the MR treatment.

Rob DeckerNo.
The Corvette is front engine. Front engine, V8, rear wheel drive, murrikan insanity.
I get the continuing desire to be taken seriously by European supercar manufacturers but in my opinion they're tossing out the brand. Ford only gets away with the GT because of the GT40, which was always mid engine.
