smschulzThe kid was on Fox yesterday.
He apologized profusely to Harvard, offered to make "amends" and was still rejected.
Speculation the rescinding of Admission was really based on his Conservative political beliefs.
The kid is very bright and articulate even with a stupid comment made as a 15 year old, years ago.
This is more of Harvard advertising their D-I-V-E-R-S-I-T-Y than anything else.

AeteoclesThere are thousands upon thousands of applicants to Harvard. I'm not going to fault Harvard for passing over this guy for someone less likely to turn out to be a douche. Hell, I would reconfirm the rejection just because his solution was to appeal to Twitter.

PDApparently, from what I’ve read, the kid was rather free with his use of the “N” word and through the magic of the internet he’s paying a big price. I don’t see how this is related to Pocahontas and Asian admissions.
Life is different today compared to when us old guys were kids. To many it doesn’t seem fair but the internet is unforgiving. It not only effects college admissions but it also effects one’s ability to get a job in law enforcement, firefighting, teaching, corporate, and many other positions. That’s life and none of us can do anything about it.

They
already accepted him THEN booted him for the verbal words as a youth.

Just to clarify - several are saying that these comments were made/posted on the internet.
That is not the case.
It was a private document shared among a small group of friends when they were 16 years old - never publicly posted. One of the 'friends' decided to make it public when Kyle came out against gun control.
So the lesson would be - never say anything at any age to anyone, publicly or privately, that you don't want published on the front page of the newspaper.
This was not a case of comments posted on the internet coming back to bite someone.

darthfusterI am so grateful there was no internet when I was young and stupid. No internet, no social media, no political correctness, no SJW self righteous moral supremacy outrage........just me and my dirt bike, a firearm of some kind and whichever female would give me the time of day.

This has not changed since at least forty years ago, except at that time it was explained to me as, “Never say, do, or write anything that you wouldn’t want published on the front page of the newspaper.”
The difference today is that the Internet makes it oh so much easier for folks to publish whatever you said, did, or wrote much faster and to a much broader audience. Couple that with PC culture and Social Justice Wankers and it can be a very unforgiving world.

How this relates to Asians and Warren is , Harvard was found to discriminate against Asians who surpassed others for admission, and admitted lesser students based on race over them, Harvard believes and has published that Warren is a woman of “color” on the Faculty.
They can take a stand against something a kid did at 15, but not they’re own actions or boot a fraud from their ranks. Hypocrites.

Tell ya what. Let's have a group go back through the backgrounds of all current Harvard students and lets see what we find. My bet, there's a sub-group of current students that couldn't live up to the standard just used to shit can Kyle's future.
Harvard rescinding this kid's acceptance has nothing to do with what he said as a 16 year old with a bunch of other 16 year olds. Virtually no one could live up to that standard. This has everything to do with Harvard executing an agenda everyone across this country knows they pursue. Diversity my ass. More aptly described as pure, unadulterated hypocrisy.

dewhorseKid doing stupid kid things....and he got spanked for it. Bet he won't do that again.
God knows I am glad there was no internet to speak of between '86 and '97.
Funny (or not) thing is people still don't get it....I have tower climbers (none work for me but some wanted to) that post unsafe or nasty things on FB.....great way to ensure you don't get hired.

rusbroAt least Harvard hasn't given the boot to David Hogg, who's repeatedly, unapologetically made an ass of himself in profanity and falsehood laced diatribes on TV and at public engagements, and who's academic record pales in comparison to Kashuv's. Granted, he's a high-profile, anti-gun, pro-leftist activist, so it's all good.

True but your argument is apples and oranges.
