I've inherited several nice watches that I would like to sell, but most certainly don't trust that big auction site or the buyers on it. What is a good way to sell for a fair price without getting scammed?

Thanks.

Seems to be a lot of watch enthusiasts on the forum. Maybe try the classifieds. I’m sure Dave can help you price them.

A) Post them here, first.

Other folks listed the places I use. There's also a good group on FB for it, but you have to be active in a watch enthusiast group for awhile, before they will et you join the sales group.

To be fair, you might get better guidance if you defined "nice" watches. A big gap between nice Seiko ---> Rolex ---> Patek. The answer will vary based on that.

Yes, there are many watch enthusiasts here! You could perhaps email them privately to get pricing info and certainly try to sell them here. I for one would like to know what you have.

This is an ad. You are running an ad. You're not asking in general terms how one might go about selling watches. You stated "I've inherited several nice watches that I would like to sell" and now you're getting specific.

This is absolutely, strictly prohibited outside of Classifieds and you should already know this.

You can start a new thread in Classifieds. I know it's a narrow path I give you guys to navigate when it comes to researching prices, but this is a long-standing policy, which, without it, the privilege of researching prices would be abused. It would become a commonplace thing and that is something I am not going to allow because these threads frequently turn into WTS ads.
