First time I went to a writers' colony in Alberta years ago, there was an aggressive elk on the premises. Huge rack. He chased one of the writers around and around an aspen, which I must admit was fun to watch. Somebody called the Rangers, and two showed up. One had -- this is true-- a hockey stick with a plastic bag tied on the end. He charged the elk shaking the stick overhead, the plastic bag making a racket-- and the elk turned tail and ran and did not come back.

Only in Canada....

My favorite part of the video was when the guy who got batted stood in the corner and adjusted his sunglasses and his hood, trying to look like a badass robber again. Except he was seeing three of everything and something smelling real bad was oozing down his leg.

That was better entertainment than anything that was on TV today.
