I've had a few pairs of ESS Eye Pro for quite some time now. Lenses are holding up great with almost no scratches at all. I do not treat them carefully.

If the style and fit work for you, I think they are a good choice. Available in both polarized and non-polarized. Granted, they do not have a million styles and colors to choose from, but their target market is a bit different.

ANSI rated so good for the range. (Different ratings for polarized vs non-polarized.)

They have a factory in the US and I think most of their production is in the US too. They are a fully owned subsidiary of Oakley.

I don’t typically lose or break glasses. I wear them professionally and otherwise because decades of flying for a living has made me very sensitive to bright sunlight. My preferred glasses are Serengeti but I have lots of Oakleys that some are nearly 20 years old. I have never experienced any of my lenses delaminating or peeling. Every lens I have ever replaced has been due to me scratching one. I wonder if this is a recent problem with Oakley manufacture.

Last pair of RayBan I looked at was chinese

Beware of knock off Raybans. There are a lot of counterfeits out there.

I have no idea if it applies to this particular company, but I was recently reading about how some companies are sending workers from their China factories to Italy so they can technically say "made in Italy" but it's the exact same product and quality.

All I can say is Maui Jims service is excellent. My puppy got to a couple of them and fixed them no charge plus thru a dog biscuit in the package..

I have both, not the Remora but I do have a few pairs of Wayfarers. All mine are prescription from the factory, the Costa lens are better in my opinion, when I put them on its like I'm adding high definition. On the other hand I like the way the Wayfarers look.

Costas frames are made in Taiwan and the Ray Bans are made in Italy not sure about the where the lenses are made I would assume the US.

You can get them with other ear pieces, you can get them in regular behind the ear and cable.

I have 3 pairs of Ray ban. The 2 tortoise frames delaminated in a couple of years, the third solid black frame did not. I tried to contact them several times with no results. I went to the vendor and they said good luck, they won’t even respond. They were right. No costumer service at all.

Dragon have been my go to for goggles for years now. Having had Smith, Oakley, Bolle prior to Dragons I always liked how clear and little fog I’d get with them.

Ran across the Monarchs that are very similar in style to the Ray Ban and Costa.
Did not even think about Dragon making Sunglasses.
Dragons are made in Italy and not a brand you see very often figured I’d give them a go. Need to order a set of goggles for the boy to wear when on his side by side.

If you're a brand making sunglasses, your growth area will be into action sports and/or, lifestyle, then into goggles. If you're googles are good, then your business growth progression is into making helmets because you want to those goggles to fit right with the helmet.

I live in the land of no surf and very little skate. I was introduced to Dragon in the late 90s and have had a set of Dragon goggles ever since but always picked them up at the ski resorts.
Dragon is not a brand I have seen around here at all. I have never associated Dragon with anything outside of ski goggles until I stumbled across the sunglasses in this search.
Hoping the lens quality and clarity is that of my goggles. They can be returned if I am not happy. So we’ll just wait to get there.

I have a pair of Ray Ban Clubmasters.

It depends on the store and they don't carry ALL of the Maui Jim models. Here's what Costco carries.
