Our new (for us) house is not far from the Carlos Hathcock Range at MCAS Miramar. Can’t quite smell the cordite but my wife jokes that aroma mixes with our garden flowers very well. I suggested we subscribe to Garden and Gun.

Wish there were some way for me to shoot there. I do have a Navy base pass. Ah well.

I live across a river and highway from the local range, probably about 8-900 yards.

I hear shots fired all of the time and, to be honest, I don't really even hear them anymore.

When I first moved out here, my (commie) sister was here for the weekend and asked if it bothered me at all. I commented, "nope, it's just the sound of freedom." I enjoy messing with that woman. Big Grin

I'm actually kind of surprise that I can hear them at all given that they are firing in a direction generally away from me, but...oh well.
