My wife just called. She says our 2012 Odyssey with 46k miles just started making a noise that sounds like de di de di de di do, so she pulled into a parking lot. She tells me she looked at the tires and they look fine.
I'm off. In the mean time, any guesses what it could be? This message has been edited. Last edited by: trapper189,

I'm afraid that isn't much help. But better safe than sorry. At least she has the good sense to not keep driving with, for example, an oil pressure light on or the engine temperature gauge pegged on H.

Our 2012 makes a popping noise sometimes when turning. I was told there’s a service bulletin about greasing some part in the front end, maybe a spring (can’t remember exactly).

I found my wife in the local Rooms-to-Go parking lot, walked around the car and then asked "Honey, I thought you said the tires looked ok?" To which she replies, "Well they didn't look flat." She then walks around to the passenger side where I'm standing and I say "I think I've found the problem." She asks. "How did you find it so fast?"

Ya, they aren't down to the wear bars yet, but they're close and worn evenly across the tread. Since they have less than 15,000 miles on them, I'm going to have to deal with the treadwear warranty.

That's good advice. I was going to get one for my daughter for Christmas. There is literally a hamster cage in the back that my wife had just purchased. Hopefully, the tire monkeys at Sam's Club can grab one for me when they fix it.

I figured three plugs. When I pulled it out I found the part that penetrated the tire was only 3/16. As egregore pointed out "At least she had the good sense to not keep driving." And even if I wind up replacing all the tires, I'm thankful it was something simple that I can laugh about.

We'll...at least it's not like my step mom driving home with what was left of a pneumatic angle grinder stuck in the tire...she called my dad and said her car was making a loud thumping sound and she could feel it the steering wheel ...she just drove it home...we could hear her on the road in front of their house all the way up the drive way. How the tire was not flat we have no idea. The angle grinder (what's left of it) is still in the laundry room

Some years back my girlfriend got a flat about 2 blocks from home, decided to bring it to me to change the tire, but there was almost no tire to replace by the time she got there. Luckily, no rim damage.
