I live here in Virginia, but the other day had to send my wife to Fairbanks AK as her dad was in dire straights... As she was boarding, decision was made to transfer FIL to Alaska Regional Hospital... So, her family all took off to there as he was flown down with MIL...

My wife ended up catching a flight next day to Anchorage... My SILs BD is today, and Nephews BD is tomorrow. Nephew loves pizza. All are displaced so wanting just a little bright spot for them.

Any ideas?

All this to say, I need a recommendation for a good pizza joint that delivers to the hospital. I figure as an ER nurse, you have some suggestions.

Thanks!

Lived in Anchorage for 5 years. Moose’s Tooth is THE pizza spot in Anchorage.

I suggest getting several small pizzas and getting creative. Rockfish pizza, salmon diablo pizza, halibut pizza were pretty unique (seasonal so not always on menu) and my out of town friends devoured them (they complained when I ordered the “weird” pizza and later complained I didn’t order enough). Their Thai chicken pizza is delicious.

Bummer, Mooses tooth will only deliver to a business, that is a business, and needs 24 hour notice, and has to be over $100....

Good gracious.

May order and have BIL pick it up if it is that much better!

Thanks!

Do they have Uber Eats, Grub Hub, etc? I moved away in ‘14 and assume that stuff had arrived in ANC.

Those sound, odd, but would definitely be up for trying them.

Weird can be good.

One of the best pizzas I've ever had was a lobster alfredo pizza at a little mom & pop pizza joint in Maine.

Concur. Was blown away by a lobster pizza I had near Akihabara, Japan. Big Grin

Anchorage Alehouse, on "C" Street, has a branch in Eagle River and it was very good. Have not tried the one in Anchorage but it should be the same. They also have one out in Palmer. Their pizza boxes have a "target" on them for re-cycling, clever idea.

$100 bucks in Alaska, not really that bad a price considering the higher cost of business, supplies and fuel.

So Uber Eats is not in Anchorage yet. However, DoorDash seems to be available up there.

I've been to the Moose's Tooth and concur that it's pretty good pizza. A quick search in DoorDash didn't pull up Moose's Tooth as an option for delivery.

Check these 2 places out:
Fat Ptarmigan Pizza

Napoli’s Pizza

I once eat pizza in the joint that had just been voted best pizza in all of Anchorage.

I felt very sad for everyone in Anchorage. Big Grin

(ETA: Just looked it up.. still in business 26 years later. I hope it's improved.)

Moose's Tooth, hands down, best non-Italian pizza ever. If you're trying to compare it to Neopolitan, Roman, Chicago, Detroit, St.Louis stop, it's solid basic American pizza. I remember when it first opened, I think I went at least once a week, for the first three months.
