I have bounced from vehicle to vehicle more in the last four years than in the prior twenty. But I keep coming back to rugged and reliable Toyotas. Decided on this lightly used 2023 with only 11,000 miles on it. I know from other posts and threads there are a bunch of Tacoma fans on SF.

SB - Congratulations - That is a beautiful truck.

I am still driving and loving my 2012 Tacoma SR5 four door and it is as strong today as the day I bought it used in 2014.

I rolled up big miles in 4Runners with zero issues. 261,000 on one of them. This has the makings of a long relationship. Still two years of Toyota warranty, good service history (for a whopping 11K miles) and being a mature platform as the last year of the G3 I am very comfortable with the long term prospect.

My 2007 has about 225K miles with the 4L V6. I have been very happy but decided to lok online for cost of a new one.

No more V6 for 2024?

3.6L V6 for a slightly older one and that wasn't in production but for 4 or 5 years as I recall.

This lends to trepidation on my part for the new(er) vehicles longevity.

Do you have the V6 or i4?

Can it tow (ie., does it have a factory tow package)?

Nice truck!
I had a 99 Tacoma xcab 4x4. Best vehicle I've owned. I'll have another one day.

It does, with a 6300LB capacity.

Oh yeah, lookin’ good! Luv muh Tacos!

I’ve owned a Toyota truck(before Tacoma name), 2 first gens Tacomas and 1 2nd gen, along with two Tundras. I loved each one, and for the 3 or 4 years I had each one, they were trouble free.

To go on about Toyotas, the 3 ‘16 RAV4s we purchased for my wife and daughters are still trouble free and FINALLY paid off.

Congrats on the new Taco. I have a ‘23 MGM Taco and love it.

The 2024 models are a lot more $ and no V6 available!

Congrats Cous! I really like Toyota products. It's a mystery to me why I've never bought a new one. Had several used.

Coincidentally, I just picked up a new Civic hatchback today. Needed something for #1 son to take to Philly for skool.

I think, like you, that I'll be going back to Japanese cars for me. This will be my first and last new BMW. It's great and all, but it's not worth the premium, and the insane ~400HP is absolutely useless for anything but ruining tires. A purpose for which I have employed it so far. Smile

Nice way to crap in someone else’s thread. I can guarantee you have multiple things built in other countries at your place.

Mine was built in TX, but I would have bought it anyway if it was built a bit farther south.

Congratulations!
We have a 2018 Tacoma 4 door pickup in our family vehicle inventory. It has been a very solid vehicle so far.
We even put it to good use earlier today, we retrieved one ton of hardwood pellets for the household pellet stove.
That takes two separate trips @ 1000 pounds.

It takes five tons of hardwood pellets to heat for an entire winter.
We only have room for storing three tons of pellets under cover and we source them in late fall and use the big 7000 GVWR trailer.
Once winter arrives, the big trailer is parked so it doesn't get road salt/brine exposure.
As we burn up the initial three tons, we have storage space again. We haul the remaining two tons of pellets in the pickup bed.

Ours has the towing package, and the transmission cooler. The Tacoma hauls the Kubota tractor around on the 7000 pound trailer effortlessly compared to my Jeep.

The 440i was a great car and would make a great 3rd car. As a daily driver, particularly for a bigger guy, it became tedious. And when they called for 2" of snow the anxiety would set in. Remind me to tell you about the ridiculous and preventable repair we just made on the X5.

Congratulations and that Taco looks great!

Had a 2017 SE5 4x4 variant, bought as-new in 2018 with a couple hundred miles on it. Recently traded it in with 117,000 miles.

Zero issues. Replaced a battery or two, couple of sets of brakes, maybe three sets of tires. The trade-in value was still STRONG. (FWIW, stayed in the “greater Toyota family,” if you will, by trading toward a Lexus GX460).
