New trends in web design
I've been noticing that a lot of web sites are one page designs. Really, really long one page designs. Is this a new thing? Can anyone speak to the SEO impact of such a site?

In my thinking, shorter pages with concise information is better for both the end user and for SEO.

Am I wrong? Is a one-pager the way to go?

I think it really depends on the information your website is trying to convey. Also, I think Google tells everyone what they need to know about your business more than your website does.

My company's website has about 5 pages but that's for an architecture firm... we have a gallery of work, directory of people, history of the firm which are all things our prospective clients would want to see.

I could easily see many companies only need a single sheet to convey the pertinent information.

There ain't much difference in the man I want to be and the man that I really am.

I see what you're saying but these are really long pages with links that zoom to different sections of the page instead of making links to different pages.

Here is an example: https://tiptonslawn.com/ A friend wants to update his web page and keeps sending these to me for my opinion. I called this one "poop" and he got upset. LOL

It seems to me like a whole lot of web pages are being designed for tablet/iPad type viewing and not anything else. That may be part of it, they assume the person is just swiping down.

That's a good point.

I still wonder how it relates to SEO.
