While I don't watch CNN, MSNBC, etc I get enough news on what they are spewing from other sources.

I laugh and roll my eyes at what I read but don't lose any sleep about it. However I think its important to know their lies and be able to rebut them intelligently as most of us will come across those who are spewing it and trying to convince others that it is true. Of course there are plenty like the hard core leftists democrats who will not be swayed but even if one is then it is worth it. The latest lie of course is that KH was never the "border czar".

I'm kinda with the OP on this.

I'm sick of all the "chatter". The way far left and way far right as well.
I know who I'm voting for, and living deep behind enemy lines, I know how much good it's going to do.
How many arguments have started over a T-shirt... over a T-shirt... I'm sorry, I deal with enough shit while at work to listen to someone else's vitriol over a T-shirt.

I'm kinda done with all the bullshit and chirping. There's not to much "middle ground" now a days, and it's being jammed in your face 24-7-365 from all sides.

I have no problem with just tuning out for a little while and enjoying a good meal with family, a good beer/bourbon with friends WITHOUT having to listen to another conspiracy theory, far leaning political commentary, a brief snippet of something that only shows a small view of something designed to sway anyone's decision. I want to listen to some Jimi Hendrix, I want to hang out with my wife and / or kids, hell, sometimes I just want to be left-the-fuck-alone. Sometimes I'll turn on the "news", listen to a podcast, talk radio.... I might click on a TRUMP thread here, a Kackling Kamalla thread, sometimes I'll just look at dogs or cats, look at all the good bourbon, or get pissed at some of the watches I can't afford, but I'll probably get another Glock... but I'll do it on MY TERMS.

I'm a rationally thinking, somewhat intelligent individual capable of my own independent thought process.
I've got enough shit going on in my life (good and bad) that takes precedent over a President.

Well, I don't have much choice in the matter, unless I wanted to either disallow political discussion altogether, or let political threads go unmoderated.

In the case of the former, I'd be busier than a one-legged man at an ass-kicking contest, locking and deleting threads until my computer mouse bursts into flames. In the case of the latter, I'd spend lots of time reading emails and post alerts from members complaining about the content of such threads, and then, hey, there I am again, right back in the mix.

I do so wish to be a cavalier man of the world- rich, sophisticated and without troubles or a care in the world. Or perhaps a really cool guy sporting a DA, jeans and a white t-shirt with a pack of unfiltered Camels rolled up in one sleeve. Love 'em and leave 'em. Brando in his snakeskin jacket.

As it stands, I'll settled for being well-informed and with a clear understanding of how things are and how they should be, and trying to shake at least a few people out of their trance, because there's going to come a point that an air of cool detachment is going to become impractical for just about everyone in this country.

I had a friend years ago that said she was never going to pay attention to politics. I told her not to worry. Politics is paying attention to her. Politics will not leave us alone. We’re past that now.

The key is to be selective and suss out the places to get real news and skip the junk.

I've always followed politics and have a fascination with the machinations of the left. They are very sophisticated and actually very organized and disciplined in their quest for power. I do feel the left is that actual 'existential' threat they like to project onto Republicans. I also agree that we have little choice but to participate in the culture war and whatever comes after. As far as media consumption, a person really doesn't need to make much effort to stay reasonably well informed these days... a solid 90% of Regime Media content is shrill and questionable opinion and propaganda.
