DEMs really have entered some warped reality. They seem to feel as profoundly entitled as some of their base.

DEM Gov Dayton line item vetoes the budget item that funds the REP majority legislative branch.

http://www.powerlineblog.com/a...h-2017-edition-2.php

At the end of this year’s slightly extended legislative session Dayton signed all tax and budget bills. Even though he professed extreme unhappiness with certain items, he signed the bills The package of budget, tax and state government bills that finally passed reflected compromises on the part of all participants including Dayton and his commissioners.

As a result of his unhappiness with certain items, however, Governor Dayton exercised his authority to veto budgetary line items to wipe out the funding of the legislative branch. The legislature’s current funding expires on July 1. After that it can run for a while on fumes (i.e., reserves on hand)

Dayton demanded that Republicans revisit selected issues on his terms after they had already given ground elsewhere to arrive at the bills that were sent to him for his signature and adjourned

the legislature took Governor Dayton to court. In asking a judge to weigh in on the issue of whether one branch can wipe out another, the thought is likely to occur that the judiciary might be next. It’s an obvious point and one that did not escape Ramsey County Judge John Guthmann, to whom the case has been assigned. Next stop, Mark Dayton rules the world!

Judge Guthmann has ruled that the Minnesota Constitution is not friendly to one-man government. “If the legislative branch is not funded, it cannot carry out its core functions, which include those functions necessary to draft, debate, publish, vote on and enact legislation,” Judge Guthmann wrote in an opinion issued shortly after attorneys left the courtroom yesterday. Judge Guthmann has ordered continued funding on an interim basis through October 1

The judge has yet to render a final ruling in the case.

Jeez, and the Tex Leg is bitching just because Governor Abbott called them back for a special session. Dayton had to have known the gesture wouldn't have passed muster - it's a pity that there doesn't seem to be any way to force him to pay the legislature's legal costs out of his own pocket.

What is up with the way Dayton slurs his speech when he talks? Really? He gets worse with every speech.

I know he had a hip or something replaced/repaired, so I know he's got to have access to some type of pain meds. Would that do it? Would not that effect his mental and professional abilities?

Maybe as a Minnesotan, I see him more often on the telly than others.

Alrighty, enough thread drift, back to your regularly scheduled program.

Do what I tell you or I pull your funding.

Now, where did I hear that before? I'll pull your FEDERAL funding if you don't do what I tell you.

Completely different. The feds shouldn't be funding a damned thing in the states to begin with. Except post roads.

He collapsed during a speech early this year. IDK if that has anything do do with his speech or thought. My guess is he's getting bad strategy advice from his party.

I don't know if all democrats are leftists, but their party is certainly dominatated by them at this time.

Not an accurate statement

I'll pull your federal funding if you don't obey the laws of the United States.

Judge Guthmann issued his final decision in the case, ruling against Dayton on constitutional grounds

Dayton is taking the case to the Minnesota Supreme Court (to which he has appointed four of the court’s seven justices)

And this is the country that elected Obama to be their President...twice.

Jesse Ventura, Al Franken, Mark Dayton....blah blah blah. Not sure any one of them is any dumber than Capsizin' Hank.
