I've had to do a couple of these on LS motors in my GM trucks. Thankfully they are pretty easy, as one of them had to be done mid-trip in an Autozone parking lot in Medford, Oregon...and I live in Indiana. I wouldn't get too worked up about getting the Delco part...they're a known weak point in this motor, and I see no point in paying more for a part that was poorly designed from the get-go. Both my trucks have Duralast pumps in them now, and I've had no further issues...one of them has over 150k on it since the replacement.

My Suburban had the auto-ride suspension, but it sounds different than yours. It was two huge shocks with resurvoirs in them that automatically adjusted to the load...no air or electronics involved. Sounds gloriously simple, but they were like $500 apiece and worn out when I got it. They were load bearing, so if you rip them out you have to replace the springs, too. I did that (put in Z71 springs, iirc...it's been a few years), and a set of coilover shocks since I do a lot of trailering with the SUV. Ride quality is a bit stiff without the trailer back there, but it's a truck, so I can live with it.

2015 I believe they switched to the auto air leveling system.
That part of the system works just fine and that is why I am keeping it.
The Magnaride when working is absolutely phenomenal on the Highway but awful around town and rough roads.
We do very little highway driving and lots of bad country road and gravel driving.

Well I got the new stuff all buttoned up.
No noise, no leaks, no overheating.

It’s days like this that make me thankful I had the grandfather I did. He taught me to work on cars and today it paid off once again.
Probably saved at least $250 on labor. Sure it was balls hot in the garage but I got it done and my boy’s saw their Dad taking care of things. One of the things I hope to instill most in them is a solid work ethic and to be as self reliant as possible.

Though it does take me to my usual dealership rant! I want to buy from my local dealership I really do but they make it so ridiculous.

So I called the dealer and they wanted to sell me the whole assembly for $450 to which I did not need. I said just the pump is all I need. He wanted to act like it was not possible to get just the pump. After assuring him it is possible he finally found it for $185.
A Duralast Water Pump from Autozone was $98. The AC Delco was $108 this is the exact part I would have gotten from the dealer.
Why on earth would I pay $80 more for the exact same thing? If I absolutely had to have it right then and there I guess I would have coughed up the $80 bucks.
I then got curious and went on Rock Auto to which the did not have just the AC Delco pump. They did however have the entire AC Delco Water Pump Assembly the dealer wanted $450 for.
And how much was it on Rock Auto?????? $185 that is right $265 cheaper. This is why people dislike dealers!
