Well pretty much everyone was right.
I knew the tensioner pulley was giving issues so I ordered one, a new serpentine belt, and a new vacuum pump belt. I was having no issues with overheating so I did not expect the water pump to be an issue.
The parts arrived today. Wife arrived home from work I went out in the garage to get something and immediately knew the smell and then saw the pink!
She said she heard liquid bubbly sounds as she called it as she was just down from the driveway. Small coolant trail in the road and no overheating so I figure we should be alright.
Pick up a new water pump tomorrow. Truck only has 70k miles on it.
Should I get the AC Delco OEM replacement or should I go with the NAPA replacement???
Lucky GM designed this right and it is easy to swap out.

And when I am done with that I get to do rear shocks. Of course this thing has auto air leveling and Magnaride rears so they are wonderfully cheap.
I am going to go with the air leveling shock that deletes the mag a ride and goes back to a standard shock. Cheaper than the Magnaride replacement but still pricey.

Been there done that.

I learned really quick that the only part I need has the same part number as the one I took off. It would be AC Delco for me.

The pump from CRAPA may or may be the one you want. The belt may be the correct length? Check the range on your tensioner to know if the belt kinda fits.

Would the air only shock set a MIL code or is there a way to override the BCM inputs so as to not have the error shown all the time? GM is/was good at providing this as an option in their earlier active suspension.

Today I found out the water pump on my Mercury is so bad that the hub is moving in and out about a 1/2". Don't know how that's even possible, but it is.

Of course no one in town but the dealer has the Delco in stock but the dealer which is twice as expensive as everyone else.
Not too impressed with the Delco since it puked at 70k miles should have one in tomorrow. Was hoping to swap it out today but oh well.

As for the Magnaride delete Artnott teamed up with Eibach for these rigs and has a direct bolt in replacement that deletes magnaride.
It uses the air shock and has a chip maybe a resistor that tricks the computer so you do not get the error code. It is a straight plug and play swap.
https://www.arnottindustries.c...s-gm-suvs-gmt-k2yg-c

They did the same for the fronts (no air ride) but deletes the Magnaride. It uses a different rate spring and a chip/resistor as well so no codes are thrown.

There is also a company that makes simulators that are plug and play and can still program the system but use standard Coilovers.
I am going to possibly use Eibach 2.0 adjustable front Coilovers when the fronts die.

The same company also makes an OBDII port system that bypasses the computer. I am not sure this will work for me as I already have a Range AFM delete module plugged into my OBDII port all the time so not sure if two modules can be
