This is the little peddle machine you sit and move your feet.

A family member in her eighties asked me to order one for her, which I will but wanted to see if anyone uses one or are these a scam too. They want about $250 for one.
Maybe there is something better. She has a bad hip, cannot walk too well or be on her feet for too long. She thinks this is something that will be good for her. Thoughts plz.

Bought a Battle Creek Pedlar Pro (now discontinued) back in 2012 for $32.50 shipped. Continues to do the job.

There are MUCH cheaper units out there today that will work. No need to spend $250.

Example for $45 here:

I see these at garage sales every weekend for $12 - $15.00.

Someone here in tiny town asked on face book to put hase a used one.

She got five offers for free ones.
They are giving them away.

For the enlightenment of others: This is a seated elliptical trainer.

Not terribly effective, but, better than no exercise at all... I suppose. Be aware: Like a full-size elliptical trainer: It can be hard on the knees--and possibly ankles. Also can encourage poor posture, leading to lower back pain.

If she has the room and budget for it: A seated stationary bike would be far better in every respect, IMO.

Years ago I bought a peddle bike for exercise. 850 CC and the peddles didn’t move!

Seriously, I bought one last winter at the recommendation of my Dr. Back issues. Most of them you can peddle with hands or feet. It didn’t help my back, but I’ve got a shoulder that causes me lots of pain, it was a noticeable improvement.

I see there products on TV quite a bit, target market is elderly, stationary, leg issues, can't say if it works or not.

Might check around at some of the used exercise equipment stores, might find one there.

See if they have a trial period where you can return it if it doesn't work.
