I bought a new Gremlin in '74. $2,800 bucks and that was with ~$700 in options... including 258CI straight six, Levis upholstery, and a radio. No power anything, 3 in the floor manual trans, no AC.

Ran it 12 years until the family outgrew it. Great starter car for a kid just out of high school and Married. I had ~$500 bucks in total upkeep on it in the entire 12 years, including tires.

They didn't have any Pacers on the lot at the time, doubt I would have bought it over the Gremi anyway.

Collecting dust.

I bought a like new "Levis edition" Gremlin....white with blue stripes, 6 cylinder auto with A/C. It was a great car, and perfect for a broke dude with wife, two small kids, and a large Doberman. I kept it for years with minimal upkeep, and traded it in on a used 77 TransAm. What a difference!!
