Took the Tundra Creekin’ today!
Today was her first off road adventure. Only have larger AT tires currently so only did a small portion of the creek but it was more for the boys to play then going off road.

I have skid plates in the garage ready to go on and will order my lift here soon so we’ll be able to do more of the creek.

This little portion is going to be a treat

Kids love playing in creeks!

That is fantastic. So many memories of my friends and the creeks we explored as children.

When I was a kid we went to Camp Kirkwood every summer in Wilmington, Ohio. The last day was creek day. Was a huge scavenger hunt in the creek. Had a 2 5 gallon buckets per 5 man team. Bigger the crawfish the more points, frogs, turtles everything had a point value.
That creek had the biggest crawfish I‘ve still ever seen.
We had a blast today. This summer was the first for all 3 boys to be big enough to do it but the wife and I did not share any days off this summer and taking 3 boys this young alone to the creek is not something I want to do.
Take my eyes off one and have one drop in a pool no thanks.
But my wife was off today and Monday is my normal day off so Creekin’ we went.

I'm curious. Given your love of off roading (and you certainly have some good looking places to go), why not build a purpose built four door Wrangler for your offroad adventures instead of taking those behemoths into the out back?

Crawfishin' and frog giggin', memories that will last a lifetime.

I feel sorry for those that never had the opportunity to grow up around creeks.

Found the southerner.

Looks like fun.

Looks fun. I'd get rid of the running boards and get some rock gliders.

Those are the memories captured for later review that will sustain you when the younglings are all grown and gone with their own families. Do it often is my counsel. They'll never be that age again.

Great times there.

Brings back many memories the three summers my older brother and I spent on our Aunt and Uncles farm in Montana. We would go into the creeks wading for a while and come out to pull a couple of leaches off and go back in.

Maybe some day. But the stuff I do is lighter and the truck will be plenty capable of what I am doing.
Maybe when the boys get bigger and I no longer need 3 car seats we’ll build something. But for now the boys are young and I don’t have much time to get into it seriously.

Ahhh creekin and muddin - great fun

You may already be aware of this but -

You might check the little breather valve on the rear axle. They have a tendency to stick and let water enter the differential. Not a good thing - don't ask me how I know about this!

And, of course, there's an established mod:

Yup. Already have the parts to extended up behind the rear tail light.
I have to do all my fluids but I’ll do it when I do my rear fluid. Going to try to get to it tomorrow.

What we did yesterday did not get close to being that high.

Used to have a family farm in that area, off E-Hickman, it's now part of the Taylor Made operations.
