Marquavious Sims, 26, died at the hospital. Georgia Bureau of Investigation is in charge of gathering evidence that that Athens-Clarke County District Attorney’s Office will use to determine if the shooting was justified or if the officers used excessive force. Sims sisters, fiancée and mother spoke to Channel 2′s Courtney Francisco less than 24 hours after the shooting. They said they had high hopes for Sims. Good to know that the females of the household had a high hopes for him. Not waving a gun around, taking shots at responding officers, and getting shot in return wouldn't SEEM like a heavy lift for those hopes .
