https://abc7.com/police-chase-...-car-video/10593578/ <--- video links within the article "Florida suspect flees police in stolen patrol car, crashes, steals 2nd patrol car Friday, May 7, 2021 12:46PM A man was arrested in Volusia County, Florida, on Thursday, May 6, after he took off in not one, but two police cars during an extended pursuit. VOLUSIA CO., Florida -- A man was arrested in Volusia County, Florida, on Thursday, May 6, after he took off in not one, but two police cars during an extended pursuit. Aerial footage released by the Volusia Sheriff's Office shows how the chase unfolded. The chase began when Cocoa police responded to a report of a disturbance near a Cocoa motel on Thursday afternoon, ABC affiliate WFTV reported. Officers with the Volusia Sheriff's Office were able to force the stolen cruiser off the road, where it crashed into some woods. However, as police surrounded the first vehicle, the suspect was able to escape and take off in a second patrol car. Helicopter footage shows the second cruiser coming to a stop on a highway median after police disabled it with drop sticks. The suspect was arrested and is awaiting charges, police said." Who is going to take the most ribbing from his colleagues, the first officer to lose his patrol vehicle or the second one ? Edited to add: OMG! I just found out the second stolen police car was also from the Cocoa PD. How will they ever live this one down? If you turn up the volume as the perp breaks from the woods, you can hear the Benny Hill music. (Almost) https://youtu.be/IYXlSPQEIYE I can imagine what was going through the white policeman's mind when he had the black fugitive behind the wheel of the second unit in his sights. Thank you Very little |
Did you notice the second police vehicle he took was the one used to pit him in the first? There was a white officer who ran up to the open door of the second police vehicle, gun drawn and didn't shoot the suspect stealing the SUV... Why, well, the guy stealing it was black, I'm guessing all the work BLM and the Dems have done to damage the image of police swayed his reaction to one of "fuck it, not my car, I'm not going to end up on TV and in jail" thoughts? We'll be seeing more of this mentality nationwide, can't blame him one bit... I doubt the second cop will have any explaining to do, probably get a commendation and pat on the back for not putting that police force on trial or on National TV...

When I have extra time, I sometimes wonder if a cop car smells anything like an old Checker Cab? Those things smell like an old downtown, basement pool hall.

Wow! They just let him get in and take the second car because they were afraid to use force to stop him. You will probably see a lot more of this... "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

^^^ Agreed. He was getting into a nearly 3 ton weapon with firearms inside and fleeing the commission of multiple felonies posing a huge risk to the public. My understanding of LE procedure is they should have used whatever force it would take to stop him from fleeing in that vehicle. “People have to really suffer before they can risk doing what they love.” –Chuck Palahnuik Be harder to kill: https://preparefit.ck.page

drop and give me 20 pushups |
many years ago (1965/1966?) the local police chief left his police car with door open / motor running sitting in front of police station and I could not resist the temptation so I politely moved the said vehicle around to the backside of the building. After securing the vehicle I took the keys inside and gave them to the dispatcher and I left the building. Later heard that the police chief was not happy but never found out who was responsible for moving his vehicle. ........................................ drill sgt.

I hate to say it, but that may have been the one time where the silly “shoot him in the leg” idea would have worked and actually been able to be pulled off. lol
