Do you have to use their pellets also?

Thanks

I bought ours from a local Smokin Brothers dealer. Sorry I can't answer your shipping question. Yes they do have their own pellets. I like the pellets because what every "flavor" you get it's 100% that-no fillers or blends.

Pellets will turn to concrete if they get wet in the hopper/auger-tube.

Be very vigilant about keeping the thing out of the rain, even with a cover.

My rec-tec 590 is seized up so badly I need to replace the entire auger assembly. Been waiting for the weather to warm up to bite the bullet and fix it.

I fucking hate these things now. It only took one lapse and some bad luck to get a $900 paperweight.

YMMV and best of luck.

Ugh. That's the event I fear in this potential purchase.

God bless America.

What DocSolo said - I sold my $500 Pit Boss for $100 after auger seized up due to moisture. Guess it was my fault for leaving outside under a cover.

The food was very good but my 20 year old water smoker cooks as good or better and my Weber kettle is not finicky about being babied. Not on my want list ever again.

I have a RecTec 700 and its is so easy to use, it doesn't seem to give as much smoke flavor as my Big Green Egg but sometimes you just want to hit a button and go.
Mine sits outside with no cover and I use it year round and never had issues with pallets getting wet.
