I found a few of these spent casings at a police training range today. What are they? Some sort of blanks?

I've been told they sting pretty good when your hit with one and only wearing a T shirt. IMO Cops are a bit strange, they do absolutely thankless duty and when they "play" they to choose to insure the hits are felt.

I've stopped counting.

Yes, they sting a bit, and will leave bruises and welts. If they hit bare skin, they will often break the skin, especially with grazes. Long sleeves, pants, and gloves are recommended, but eye, face, throat, and groin protection is mandatory during force-on-force simunition training, as the rounds can cause serious injury there.

Think of it as a step up in training realism compared to something like paintball or airsoft guns, but also a step up in potential danger.

Binford 1103 Thumper.
Specifically designed for use as an attention getting round.

Example:When you are sick and tired of your inlaws drinking all your beverages.
Or for those times when you see someone reaching for the remote control.
Or
Those occasions when you find your tools out of place and not put back where they belong
