Have you noticed the new media mantra ? The trick is for the commentator to quote something President Trump says and add the words, "without proof". An example might be, "The president said today, without proof, that the immigrant caravan may contain dangerous criminals." I don't recall them saying, "President Obama said today, without proof, that if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor."

architectI remember my dad, over 40 years ago, getting torqued when the TV anchorman said something like, "President Nixon, in his press conference yesterday, claimed that..." His main objection: it's a mealy-mouthed way to call someone a liar.
My point being that media has long used language to convey their biases.

Just once, I'd like for someone to respond by insisting that the talking head tell them specifically what people are actually saying X, Y and Z. I'm convinced that talking heads are just making those questions up and hoping that they can plausibly insist that its a valid question.
