I get angrier by the hour as I think about what this con artist McCain did. I find my brow furrowing now every time I see his face or hear his name.

This dumb ass showboat McCain may have doomed me, my kids and their kids to shitty healthcare for the rest of our lives.

Probably not.

First of all, no program these goons would devise, with all the industry, government, medical pressures, not to mention constituents inputs, was likely to result to be able to deliver terrific healthcare to everyone. There is no way to provide the kind of healthcare you describe to everyone, with all the trotters in the trough, plus government overhead, at anything like costs that people will accept, or be able to pay. Moreover, no government program of that magnitude has been successful at what it was supposed to do. Look at the War on Poverty! Any of them for that matter.

You aren't going to get it unless and until you and the rest of the people demand that government got out, maybe license doctors, etc, maybe regulate insurers for financial soundness, maybe, and virtually nothing more.

Moreover, passing this bill certainly did not "repeal and replace." At best it just gave a new can to kick down the road, some fodder for re-election campaigns, "we did our best but couldn't quite do all we wanted."

There are Health Savings accounts now, are there not? Why aren't those being sought?

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Sadly, I'm not sure they would vote against him now, dead or alive.

The Manchurian Candidate.

I went numb when "our" party nominated him to run for President in 2008.

May God in his mercy forgive MCCain.

I agree. Getting the government out is unlikely. This began in 1965 with the passage of MEDICARE.
Many are not aware that CMS, a huge federal agency not only sets fees but is now paying physicians with rudimentary metrics designed to meet some governmental standard. That issue is huge and is a reason why many doctors are throwing in the towel. It is not much different than a checklist, rather than good patient care. Those of you wonder why the physician now spends more time treating the computer, filling out forms for the electronic health record have the government to thank for it.

This comes as no surprise to me. He's done this before and he'll do it again given the chance.

I wonder if McCain knows how pissed we are at him? I think he does, and I don't think he cares.

Why would he give a rat's rump? It isn't like he is going to be running for reelection.

I'm sure he knows and I'd guess, in his mind, it validates his actions.

Their main concern now is that the Trump administration will stop paying crucial subsides called for in the law that help reduce costs like deductibles for people with low incomes. The subsidies, estimated at $7 billion a year, have been challenged by Republicans in court, and Trump has only guaranteed them through this month.

Does McCain really think the government can sustain the $7 billion per year in subsides.

During the last primary I made the joke I was voting against the people I would be voting for in November. Kelli Ward campaigned against McCain in the primary and I voted for her. The problem is she is an amateur politician having served in the state assembly. She doesn't have the right people running her communications and tries to do much of it herself. She says things that are true, but often mis-worded or ill-timed making it easy for the media to target her and people to dislike her.

McCain won the primary and the democrats put up a self admitted socialist to run against him. It really was picking the lesser of 2 evils in the general election.

As said earlier, the primaries are where the real fight is for conservatives nowadays.

I'm not going to sit out a general election. The sad fact is, when the choice comes down to a Republican and a democrat, I'm surely not voting for the democrat. And I'm not going to give him a de facto vote by not voting for the Republican. So yeah, if I were an Arizona resident, I would've voted for McCain too in the general...

And now after having said that, you all now have permission to shoot me dead with a Hi-Point.
