bendableRoofing shingles question
Are they marked in some way to allow future identification ?
Can someone come along four ,six or nine years later and say for certain the make model and longevity specified ?

MikeinNCI kept a bundle of shingles when my roof was re-shingled last June. That way I will know for sure what they are and brand and color.

ZSMICHAELEverytime my house has been reroofed they have left a bundle. I would be more concerned about the nailing of the shingles. The placement, the proper depth and how many nails per shingle. BTW the wind ratings are a joke.

4MUL8RMy builder could not state what shingles he used 25 years ago on my house. "Our records do not go back that far."

MikeinNCMy last home had a binder of all the subs, paint colors, etc, it was labeled From Pillar to Post. The builder gave it to me when I bought the home.
My current home was new and the builder left a binder in the home when we moved in. It wasn’t as fancy as the last one.
One in NC and here in Tx. So I guess it’s a thing

BeancookerOur homes have never had a binder. As far as the shingles, the last few have had tile roofs. Matching the tile later is an easy pain in the ass. It’s easy to see that they don’t match and a pain in the ass to find an exact match.
As far as pain colors, we are lucky enough to have a fantastic paint shop here in town, that I was lucky enough that they keep stellar records. They look up the address and tell you what colors are on your house. It’s quite handy.

Yes we do. And the owner's manuals for everything we are leaving to the next owner.
