I visited the local CVS to pick up a script today. While waiting, I thought I would peruse the gun rags on the magazine rack. I was surprised to find they have been pulled. When I Questioned the clerk, she gave me a wink and stated that they were not Political Correct and so no more. She told me her husband pulled his scripts because of the bullshido.

Years ago, we had Eckerd Drug in central Texas. They were damn good drug stores. Then CVS bought em out. I've always thought CVS sucked worse than Walgreens, and Walgreens is about the bottom of the barrel. Except for WalMart.

In Colorado Springs, we had Long's Drug. They sold not only prescriptions, but firearms and booze. And fishing gear. I loved Long's Drug. Naturally Walgreens bought em out.

Gun magazines are going out of business, or shifting to electronic format. At nearly 10 bucks for some of them, I can see why. It's likely more of a business decision than a political one. Clerks don't know jack. I'd trust a CVS clerk about the same as a gun store clerk.

I just re-newed my subscription for "Guns and Ammo" for 2 years for about $15/20 (don't recall the exact amount)

Buying magazines off the rack is waaaaaaaaay more expensive than subscribing, thus there not being on the rack doesn't faze me.

I gave them up years ago. Some were practically pamphlets any more, and they were never very objective. Also, it seemed liker there were only about ten writers working for all of them and writing the same articles over and over.

For staying sane while waiting I usually bring my Kindle, which holds a LOT of reading material. If I forget it, there's a Kindle app for Android and iOS phones, that syncs with the Kindle readers so you always know what page you're on.

Longs Drug ROCKED! That was our standard pit stop to resupply before hitting Rampart Range. Cheap ammo, often milsurp available, and clerks that knew and liked guns. Used to chat with a clerk who was into CAS.

Interestingly, I see a fair bit of open carry by Walgreens customers now.

I mean, I’ll admit to thumbing through a gun rag once a year when I’m stranded at the CVS waiting on a script for a sick kid, if my phone has no signal or is out of batteries. Or maybe at an airport while killing time.

The photography is usually very good, the words are hardly worth the paper they are written on, and the magazine price is laughable.

CVS tries to be very PC. They stopped selling tobacco products because they are bad for your health. Ok, this is true. I've been a smoker for 50 years, so believe me I know it's true. However, lets look at what CVS continues to sell. Booze, candy, and soda just to name a few. So glad to know that these things are not bad for your health. Thanks, CVS.

Walgreens is a good place to carry, period. Kind of like Waffle House. Wink

I found a GLARING error in that rag so bad you would have thought it was written by the moms demand idiots. Wrote a long reply to the editor and they never even replied.

not sure it was 10, maybe 10 aliases,,

only magazine worth getting was Precision Shooting, and it's sister publication The Accurate Rifle,

sadly, they are gone

G&A, I believe, once had a bio on Sherlock Holmes sidekick, Dr. John Watson. It had a photo and everything. That struck me as VERY odd, since both are fictional characters.

We had a rash of robberies at a few of the Walgreens on the NE side of town. I always made sure that if my wife needed to go to walgreens, I went in with her. I use those big mirrors on the back wall to my advantage. I also miss Long's Drugs.
