When I watched the clip of the debate the other night, I saw him and was thinking "I have no idea who that guy is? He doesn't even look slightly familiar to me?"
I guess that's part of why it wasn't going so well. So did he think he had a chance, was it a VP bid or just a cash grab?
Scott has future opportunites. He is intelligent and well spoken. He has an even temperament which for me is a tremendous asset. I think it helps to alter the wider perception that Blacks always vote Republican.

Curious what was going on in his brain. He never had a shot at the nomination. The only reason for him to get in the race was to audition for the VP spot. They all say they're not interested in the job, but I wonder if he really is angling for it behind the scenes. Otherwise, he perhaps boosted his conservative cred which could make his senate fundraising a little easier.

They all have different reasons... and it usually doesn't hurt them to raise their national profile as they are henceforth known as a "former Presidential candidate".

They all need to get out of the race because none of them will beat President Trump and they will have a zero chance of winning POTUS.
Yeah... it's annoying and tiresome for the rest of us, but for the candidates, who have to make that decision... see above.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I like Tim Scott and have nothing bad to say against him except maybe he's too nice, especially for the VP slot.
If I was picking a VP candidate to go up against the Democrat's diversity strategy, I would pick Byron Donalds, except you do end up with Trump and Donalds being both from Florida but I still like that combination.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I live in the South where most people are "nice". Those folks can be very intimidating and ruthless behind the scenes. He is also OPTIMISTIC which I do not see in any of the candidates. It was nice to see.
