I recently became the training coordinator for my department. Part of my duties include managing specialized instructors and ensuring that there certifications remain current. Is there a way to share something (a task or meeting) in outlook that would help manage this with a reminder 6 months prior to expiration that wouldn't be on the calendar for 6 months? I am not even sure the best way to word a google search for a good response. Thanks for any help. JD

Max advance notice on my Outlook (O365) is 2 weeks prior. May be a way to give a reminder further than that, but I'm not sure. The Enemy's gate is down.

To my knowledge, you cannot create a calendar entry and then request a notification popup 6 months beforehand. However, you can create a calendar entry that is itself the reminder, and put it on the calendar 6 months before the expiration. For example, if John Smith's certification expires on September 1st, you can create a calendar entry on March 1st that states "John Smith's cert expires in 6 months", and set a same-day popup. Thus effectively generating a 6 month reminder popup. I do stuff like that on my calendar all the time. "XYZ coming up in 1 month". "20 day ABC reminder". "90 days to vacation!" Etc.

You might try this & see if it works. Manually type in 6 Month or 6 Months [unsure of syntax] https://www.slipstick.com/outl...stom-reminder-times/ Set your event on the expire date, and manually set the reminder The Enemy's gate is down.

My job is adding and coordinating and maintaining academic agreement contracts with all the places the university I work for places nursing students for preceptorships - currently there are about 1500 of them. They are all kept in a spreadsheet with agreement effective dates and expiration dates. Every month I make a copy of the spreadsheet and sort by expiration date. I then start working all the renewals coming up within six months. This spreadsheet was already established when I took this position in Google Sheets. As renewals are completed the expiration date is updated in the spreadsheet. It is also my understanding you can use an Excel spreadsheet to automatically populate a special due dates Outlook calendar. I am going to try this out soon.

Not Outlook, but Apple has a (free) reminder app that provides for repeat reminders at intervals that can be set by the user. I don't know whether a similar app is available for Windows, but I'll bet that there is one. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים
