It's been said before and will no doubt be said again, but I don't think it really sinks in until it happens to you.

This place is unique. The word is overused to the point it's almost trite, but it's absolutely accurate. I lack the words to convey just how amazing it is. The breadth of knowledge and the help and support that is so freely given here is something I've never experienced anywhere else.

As stated elsewhere, our family is dealing with some serious medical issues. It's my duty as Dad to be strong for my family. I often portray myself as a stoic, Teutonic hardass but this situation is REALLY drawing down on my reserves of composure.

Many folks have offered their prayers and support which means a lot all by itself.

A member here encouraged me to call and talk one-on-one and took the time to explain things and answer my questions. The information he provided gives us - and particularly my daughter - much encouragement. Just having some idea of what to expect and knowing what questions to ask is a HUGE relief.

My skill set and resources don't offer me many opportunities to be even a fraction as helpful, but be assured, Fellow Forum Members, if and when the situation arises where I CAN help, I'll be first in line.

I am hoping everything works out. This place is unique and a lot of fun. A lot of people to help out in any way and for the most part a lot of positivity.

The Negative Nancy’s or the creeps are usually dealt w/ in a swift and appropriate manner.

Good to hear that you and your family have been able to get some clarity, and as you say, encouragement re: the health challenge(s) your family is currently facing together. Yes it's been said before, and often an understatement, but SIGforum ALWAYS delivers!

And don't sell yourself short. You are certainly my favorite 'MAINEiac', and I always enjoy reading and garnering inspiration from your posts. You definitely contribute MUCH More than you, your humble self, are willing to take credit for.
