Thank you all so much for the support, I can’t thank you enough. It really makes me feel like I’m on the right track that people from all over the country are supporting me - I’m truly blessed. As of right now it looks like it’s going to be a 3 or 4 man race for the primary, down from 10 candidates originally. I’m sticking it out and going to follow this through to the primary. I feel like I’ve got the qualifications, and the right ideas, and really want to take a stand and fight the good fight. One other favor to ask for those of you in and around NY state: If you have Facebook can you possibly friend me and most importantly share my website on your feed? I’m working on getting a Twitter profile off the ground, but up to now I’ve only used Facebook. Thank you all again so much! Update: 2/25/2023 So I had a bit of a setback today. The county’s Republican nominating committee has selected my opponent to run as the Republican nominee. While this is disappointing, it was not unexpected. I now have to work hard to get a minimum of 1,000 signatures in 5 weeks to ensure that I will be on the primary ballot. Once I’m on the ballot I have to put my faith in the Republican voters of the county, and if I win the primary then I will be the Republican nominee in the general election, despite the nominating committee’s choice. I’m really working hard on this as a grass roots effort, and think that I can still be successful. I’ve been up front with my platform and my message from the beginning, and really didn’t see any sort of platform articulated by the committee nominee. Regardless of the outcome, I’m damn proud of what I’m doing, and so incredibly humbled by the support that I’ve received from the many people that have expressed their belief in me and my ideas. I just wanted to keep my forum friends updated of my progress. I’m kind of hoping that by me sharing my experiences in running for office that I might encourage some other good folks from our community to run for office themselves. It’s a lot of work, but it’s far from impossible, and even though many people make it appear to be impossible to figure out as a newbie, it really is doable.
