I just spent $50 on soap, and one of you gets a bar. Winner selected, Bald1 is going to be smelling fresh and clean.

Why not? That's a big bar... er handful. Gotta keep clean ya know. Big Grin Seriously it'd be interesting to compare to our standby Kirk's Cold Water Castille. Thanks Jesse!

Well Bald1, compare away, you're the winner. Email me your mailing information and I'll get it in the mail on Friday (hopefully).

Please double check ingredients and make sure there's no allergy issues, lots of extracts of this and that.

E-mail sent. I'm allergic to almonds when eaten but haven't experienced any issues with almond oil. Should be good to go.

"Someone with a nut allergy won’t necessarily be allergic to a nut oil in a product. It’s the protein in the nut that causes an allergic response."
"The heat produced during the process of expeller pressing almonds (mechanically grinding and compressing), effectively neutralizes the allergen protein from the resulting oil."

I'll let you know how it stacks up against the Kirk's coconut oil stuff. Smile

Again my thanks!

Comparison with Kirk's Castile e-mailed to you. Again thanks for gifting the soap to try. Big Grin

Addendum:

Decided to share it here with the forum members given the high view count Jesse's thread garnered.

SPA CEYLON Frankincense Kaffer Lime vs KIRK'S Castile Original Fresh Scent

Similarities:
--Both are based on top grade coconut oil (Sodium Cocoate) and as such both provide quick copious amounts of lather even in hard water.
--Both have very mild and pleasant scents.
--Both rinse clean leaving no film or soapy feeling.

Differences:
--Obviously the scents are different and a matter of personal taste. We found both pleasing.
--8.82oz vs 4oz bars. The larger is quite a handful for those with smaller hands.
--Price point with the Kirk's running from $1.50 to $2.50 a bar and the Spa Ceylon significantly more at $10 or so.
--Kirk's Ingredients are non-GMO and touted as Clinically-Tested Safe for Sensitive Skin and Certified Hypoallergenic.
Sodium Cocoate (100% premium coconut oil), Water, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Gluconate, Fragrance
--Spa Ceylon ingredients add Rice Bran, Wheatgerm & Almond to moisturize, nourish & soften skin to the virgin coconut oil base.
Coconut, Aloe Vera, Olive, Rice Bran, Wheatgerm, Almond, Kokum, Mango, Frankincense, Kaffir Lime (more complete ingredient list in the opening post picture).

Summary:
Both are fantastic soaps sharing a common coconut oil base and are more similar than different as a result. The additional moisturizers in the Spa Ceylon may be of some value but our feeling is that it is negligible. Kirk's is to be preferred for those with allergies or very sensitive skin. As an aside it is also available in fragrance free and aloe vera versions. If cost is a consideration Kirk's, while more expensive than everyday supermarket bath soap remains a bargain compared to the Spa Ceylon. Either are great choices.

Thanks for great write up. Will definitely be giving Kirk's a try.

And yes the jumbo bar is a little unwieldy for the first few uses.
