ugh... progressive bifocal lenses and high astigmatism
one more thought kind of outside the box, but this is what worked for me. I have a high astigmatism as well. Higher than yours. Tried progressives and they made me want to puke. I wear contact lenses for distance (custom, not off the shelf, due to astigmatism) and regular reading glasses for closer. I do not need the readers for computer work.

Your problem is progressive lenses, get some conservative glasses. Wink

Excellent option and I have plenty of patients that do exactly that. Depending on the original posters age and situation, this may be an option. Another option is fix the astigmatism via cataract surgery.
