Page late and a dollar short

Last dealer I worked for started acquiring more dealerships soon after I started there.

Things changed, the bigger they got the more decisions were made not for the employees benefit. Corporate cut benefits yet went on a spending spree both business and personal. My last three years basically I “retired in place” as it wouldn’t have been fair to change jobs only to leave in such a short time but that was an option.

Post retirement I continued working part time in a motorcycle dealership, has been working for that company almost continually from 1999 to the time the store sold in 2021, again a owner with multiple stores over several states. I intended to give it a year but left before the anniversary of the change.

We were told “nothing will change here, we have a winning team” yet overnight they did. Things like our employee discount was reduced yet we were not told of this, they felt they would just sneak it in. If you’re going to change policy, inform us,,don’t just try to sneak it past us.
