That’s me. The Sheriff in the video is my boss. I’m not an investigator so I don’t know much more than public, but perhaps a little. If they don’t release, I don’t discuss, but as the Sheriff said, Singh went down fighting but things didn’t break his way. Murphy’s law, and all that.

RIP. This local community has lost significantly more than the average in the last 5-6 years. We just had a funeral a couple weeks ago, now another. It’s gotten to the point where putting on a cop funeral is just another regular task that we’ve had far too much practice at.

My sources tell me the suspect was arrested near Bakersfield. That's all the info I can give

The suspect in the shooting death of a Newman Police Department was arrested in the Bakersfield area either Thursday night or Friday morning.

“Great News..... The fugitive wanted in connection with murder of Newman, CA Police Officer Ronil Singh has been arrested early this morning in Bakersfield,” 10th Congressional District candidate Ted Howze posted.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office would not confirm the arrest but announced Friday morning that it will hold a press conference at noon to release “significant developments” in the hunt for the man suspected of killing the corporal. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office also is holding a press conference tied to the Newman case.

Sad to hear. RIP.

CNN still isn't carrying the story but MSNBC finally picked it up, albeit buried quite deep in their coverage. FOX, to their credit, has it as their top story.
