The Tennessee team is from Nolensville, a suburban community of Nashville & 5 miles from my Nashville home. They play New Hampshire today at 1pm EDT on ESPN. The team is led by the son of Vanderbilt's pitching coach.

This is real baseball, for the fun of it not for large paychecks. Bet some of them have hangnails and are not even on the injured list.

The NH team represents the North Manchester-Hooksett Little League, the league from my town! Cool

I was a coach, umpire, and board member for eight years, and served all three of those roles concurrently during most of my tenure. It's REALLY Good to see our boys make it to Williamsport! Big Grin

Elimination Games are tough...Win or Go home! NH is still in it after today's game and plays again Monday PM.

Appears that a pitcher for Washington just finished a no-hitter against Florida.

That’s why I love it. And the fact that most of the runs I’ve seen scored are off non home run hits and small ball. I like seeing the strategy in base running and seeing defenses make plays.

I’m growing tired of some big league games being all home runs. I understand the home run is part of the game but I hate how it dominates it. In the field of dreams game recently there were either 16 or 17 runs scored. All but 1 we’re scored off home runs. A big home run late in a game can sure be exciting but to me it’s boring when it’s homer after homer all game.

That's how the game has been marketed. Also, the days of the Greg Maddox style pitcher is also history. All MLB wants to market is fireball 100+ pitchers. My son was a 'control based' relief pitcher in high school and his stats were exceptional (i.e. way ahead of most other relievers in the league he played in). The kids with mediocre stats, but who could throw 90mph+ got all the attention, while my son got exactly '1' college offer. The game in college and in the pro's is all about flash and little about substance at this point.

A no-hitter and a shared no-hitter through 2 rounds. This is some great baseball - the way it was meant to be played. The kid from South Dakota had 15 strike outs in 5 2/3 innings !

Weather didn't cooperate yesterday afternoon but they will be back at it today at 1pm.

^^^In the New England Regionals, a Player from NH threw a Perfect Game! He struck out every Batter he faced....12 Strike outs in a shortened (due to the 10 Run Rule) game of four innings! Cool

Mason DeVall’s perfect game

Sioux Falls South Dakota team has reached the quarter finals in Williamsport. Next opponent is a California team.

https://bleacherreport.com/art...sults-and-highlights

"In Monday's second game, three runs were enough for South Dakota on the strength of a gem by the appropriately named Maddux Munson. Munson went the distance on 77 pitches, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out four.

For four innings, Chase Kelly was just as good for Oregon.

The trouble began in the fifth as Kelly allowed a walk to begin the inning. Ben Robertson took over and immediately walked Brekken Biteler. After Boston Bryant grounded into a fielder's choice, the stage once again belonged to Gavin Weir.

Weir has been nearly untouchable both in the run-up to and during the Little League World Series. On Monday, he showcased his offense as he hit a three-run homer to right.

Munson shut the door on Oregon in the sixth to set up a pivotal game with California on Wednesday, with a place in the Tom Seaver championship on the line."

Correct. Instead of international teams the top 2 teams from each region went.

And one who's future I fear is being written right now. I watched that kid pitch and all I could think of was, "He's headed to surgery in the not too distant future." I hate seeing any kid that age throw that many 'spinning' pitches. I saw way too many kids over a 12 year coaching span start off spinning the ball early on only to spend high school and/or college under the knife and in rehab. As a lefty, he's got a built in advantage to start with even without 'spinning' the ball.

Great offensive display by NH and the Lucier brothers ! Plenty of errors on both sides as well - but that's what makes this so much fun to watch.

Our local team (Toms River) lost yesterday. It was the third time they had been there. They won the series I think the first time and lost their last two.

NH almost pulled off the miracle comeback vs. Ohio. Down 4-0 bottom of 6th - 2 men on and who steps up to the plate? Lucier - again with a 3-run shot over the right field wall. But that was the end of the rally and Ohio prevailed 4-3.
