Haley: "I looove your hat."
Little Girl: “Thanks, one of your guys gave it to me for free.”

I take it this was all staged, but the girl busted the deal with her honesty.

What do you think? Nikki Haley for President 2024

Here's the joke, explained in detail Roll Eyes

The setup: Nikki Haley is speaking to a young girl in the audience of a campaign event. The young girl is wearing a hat promoting Nikki Haley for President. Nikki Haley says she loves the hate.

The punchline: The girl says “Thanks, one of your guys gave it to me for free.”

Why is this funny?: It's funny because Haley was either behaving as if she did not know that the girl had just been given the hat, or actually didn't know the girl had just been given the hat. Either way, the idea is that the girl is an ardent supporter of Nikki Haley and brought the hat to the event with her, but the truth is that Haley's campaign people were salting the crowd with this stuff and as a result, Haley comes off looking like a fool.

OK? Roll Eyes

I found it funny and embarrassing for Nikki. I guess she’s not a lawyer - never ask a question to which you don’t know what the answer is going to be.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

It said "NIKKI" in white block letters. Below that, it said "HALEY" in red block letters. Below that, it said "--FOR PRESIDENT--" in, much smaller letters than the first two, white block letters.

Like this:

Shocking, right? A free hat given out by a Nikki Haley campaign worker at a Nikki Haley rally mentions the candidate, Nikki Haley, and the office she is running for, for President.

The problem with a hat like that is it's predestined for a trip to Goodwill whereupon it's new owner will be offered a free bowl of soup everywhere the hat is worn.

Contrast that with a campaign hat with a timeless slogan like, "Make America Great Again". A hat like that never goes out of style and never make it's wearer look like they need free soup.

Well, it was rather obvious if you watched the video and engaged your little grey cells just a tiny bit Wink

No, not criticizing. I've been known to miss the blatantly obvious on occasion, myself
