My parents house has a section of galvanized pipe from the late 1940's to early 1950's in their house with copper pipe on either end connecting with brass fittings I believe. One end goes back to the branch of 3/4" copper and the other a hose bib connection. I want to eliminate the run of galvanized pipe by using 1/2" PEX because I cannot run it via the same route due to a hard ceiling. In total it would only take about 40 feet of PEX and one straight connection and one 90 elbow to attached to the hose bib. What is the best connection to use? Figure I can rent any equipment I need. I also can sweat copper without any issues since the rest of the house is copper, have all the equipment, but PEX would eliminate the need for about three additional elbows and be faster. Thoughts? Suggestions? ---------- “Nobody can ever take your integrity away from you. Only you can give up your integrity.” H. Norman Schwarzkopf | ||
