I also think that the majority of the 70 million is simply a shell game to feed back into dem super pacs and contributions directly to democrats.

I think a lot of the green energy, etc, etc are how the Dems have unlimited amounts of money to run non stop in your face campaigns.

From that link you shared:
"Mamdani is set to spend $70 million to fund the Economic Development Corporation, which will scout potential locations for his city-run grocery stores."
I doubt it would cost even 1% of that $70 million to do such a study.

This is communism at its finest, and showcasing its core values. This is setting up a cushy, bureaucracy with fat pay-offs for Mandummy's closest allies.

The Soviet Premier had his politburo, with their summer dachas and rich meals, even as the people starved and waited in long lines for very little of any and every thing. Castro, the Kim Jongs and Mao to Xi all have/had their protected oligarchy around them to whom they dispensed money, favor and power in return for undying loyalty.

It is no different in the muslim theocracies of Iran, etc.

Mandummy knows how to steal from the people he promised he would "give" everything to, and he isn't going to bat an eye looking at his victims as he robs the city blind.

Question him, and he will scream racism and islamophobia.

I have said for many years that these turds will keep redefining and revising the threshold at which one is considered "rich." Well, now that motherfucker has gone and done it, or is trying to. (At this point this is still a proposal.)

Zohran Mamdani is proposing to raise NY's estate tax to 50% and have it kick in at $750,000 instead of more than $7 million...

His "proposal" is empty class warfare rhetoric.
He has no power over what the State does.

The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Probably. But if this is correct, he's not proposing this by himself.

It has a long way to go to become reality, needing to be passed by the state legislature first. But I suspect this bar won't be very high.

^^^ The linked Townhall article is worth reading.

The Democrats always campaign on taxing the rich, until they realize there aren't enough wealthy people to support their massive spending programs, and that wealthy people have the means to flee high-tax states. That invariably leads to Democrats taxing everyone, including the working class, which doesn't have the ability to fight back or flee.

Collapsing the value of property and abolishing private homeownership are goals of Cea Weaver, Mamdani's housing advisor. This will do it.

NYC Mayor Mamdani Declares He Will Override Police Commissioner Whenever He Feels Like It

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani publicly stated he would have the last word on all New York Police Department (NYPD) decisions — not Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch.

He made the comments during an interview with The New York Times at City Hall.

"In a wide-ranging interview with The New York Times, the mayor said that he was willing to institute policy changes at the Police Department if he and the commissioner, Jessica Tisch, could not reach an agreement.

“Yes, ultimately I hold the final decision no matter which department or agency we’re speaking about,” Mr. Mamdani said, speaking from his offices at City Hall.

He was specifically responding to a question about whether to dismantle a unit known as the Strategic Response Group, which polices protests and other mass events and has been faulted for using heavy-handed tactics. Ms. Tisch, who was also police commissioner under former Mayor Eric Adams, has been dubious in the past about getting rid of the entity."

The mayor remains committed to disband the SRG, a promise he made on the campaign trail. In January, he told reporters, “We need to disband the SRG, and I’m currently in conversations with the police commissioner about the ways in which we can do so that are operational,” according to City & State NY.

The SRG issue is not the only point of contention between Mamdani and Tisch. Mamdani also supports abolishing the NYPD’s gang database, a system with more than 16,000 entries, Politico reported. The database has faced criticism for unfairly targeting racial minorities.

"I've made my critiques of the database clear, and the NYPD has also implemented a number of reforms as per the recommendation that came through, and the implementation of those reforms and the results of that are part of the active discussion that we're having,” Mamdani told reporters.

Tisch disagreed, saying “the gang database is a tool that has helped us in terms of fighting gun violence” and that “It also contributed to the gang takedowns.”

Here's a few questions I have:
What was the turnout for the election?
How many DIDN'T vote?
How many didn't vote for the Commie?

Being from Chicago, I feel sorry for the few that didn't vote for the commie.
Some people are kinda "stuck" for whatever various reasons in a shitty situation and can't just pack up and leave.

So, um... when should we see No Kings protests start in NYC?

There were approx. 5.5-6 million registered voters in NYC. 2 million voted in the 2025 election, Mamdani getting a million (50%), Cuomo getting 42% and Sliva getting the rest. Turnout was less than 40%.

So basically Mamdani was elected by 1 million out of close to 6 million possible voters. And this showcases the main reason why shitty candidates get elected, look at the turnout numbers.

Yeah, those are awful turn-out numbers. The impact of this will go far beyond Mamdani's new policies. There is already an exodus occurring there and it will get worse. This will move thousands of jobs elsewhere as well as crippling smaller businesses that rely on consumer spending there. As previously mentioned, pretty much the Detroit blueprint.

Madmani is also the product of a ranked choice voting system and probably never would have been elected if that system wasn’t in place.

BINGO!
Apathy kills!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that would mean 60% just flat out don't care.

It's the 42% and 6% that I feel for. At least they stood up.

Find a better system.
It's the fairest one we got.
The MAJOR problem is the canidates.

I'm reminded of an episode from South Park where they have to vote for a school mascot.
The choices are:
A big giant douche
A turd sandwich
