I have a Cal King Tempurpedic we bought eight years ago. I think its toast. To be honest, it felt good the first year we had it, but we always slept hot on it. I'm not sold on the memory foam idea.

I'm a stomach sleeper and she's a back and side sleeper. We both tend to sleep hot. I'm looking for recommendations for a Cal King around $1000.

Any suggestions?

Interested in answers as well. From another pair of hot sleepers with the a/c at 69. Well, one's an early 50's woman, so you get the picture.... Eek

You're not going to find a quality mattress that will last in that price range. A quality Cal king that will last and hold up is going to be $2500+

That being said. I bought a Serta Hybrid (inner spring, layer of gel, thin layer of memory foam) and it is phenomenal and was around $1800......

We went from about a 10 year old Temperpedic original to the Temperpedic hybrid with springs and foam. It sleeps much cooler than the older matress.

My daughter got a Casper and really likes it. She's only had it a few months so long term reliability is unknown.

Bought one of the foam mattress from Costco, they have several models, under a grand and it's held up well, both hot sleepers, in FL, it's remained cool and kept up it's firmness.

Not sure how much that size will cost, but we just got a King size hybrid (foam and springs) from WinkBeds. It replaced a 14-year-old Stearns and Foster traditional spring mattress and we love it.

Great service and they are able to customize if you need it.

You guys are going to cost me money. My wife hates our very expensive 18 year old Tempurpedic. It is so bad she bought a memory foam topper for the memory foam mattress.

As good a mattress as is sold anywhere, and the industry's very best customer satisfaction ratings. And I've tried several top name brands. Oh, and there's a 120 day guarantee to boot. And most people here, I'd wager, have never heard of them. $1000 gets you as good a mattress as you can buy. Good luck with whatever you buy.

Try Purple. Great mattress.

Avoid Leesa. Poor quality control, WAYYYYYY too firm.

We recently bought a Simmons Beauty Sleep hybrid with the cooling foam top and so far we really like it. We were already shopping for a mattress and the local high school band had a fundraising mattress sale. Several brands laid out in the band room, write them a check or credit card and have it delivered the next week. Ours is a king and we paid approx $800 which was several hundred less than we saw the same thing in local stores for.
