This has been suggested and my inclination was to keep everything in the Trump thread.

The thing is, the findings and actions of DOGE have become extensive and I'll wager I'm not the only one finding it difficult to keep track.

A member said they want to keep the DOGE stuff in the Trump thread because it's "history". They have a point. These six threads pinned to the top of the Lounge cover nearly the last ten years, continuously, from June 30, 2015, until the present, with no gaps.

The DOGE stuff should be included in this record of public reaction we've created, and it will be included, but because of the volume of information on DOGE, and because of its significance, an adjunct thread makes sense.

If we do this- and I haven't yet decided- we would need a small group of active members to be in charge of compiling the data. Members in general can contribute to the thread, and then throughout the thread, a handful of members can help compile this data as we go along, and then, at intervals, I would add the compiled data to the original post in the thread. To be clear, I wouldn't be gathering the data and sorting it out for publication; you would be doing so. I would just add it to the original post, but all the work would be yours.

Anyone who volunteers to assist with this would have to stick to it, and not get bored and fade away after a few months. As it stands now, DOGE is supposed to be in existence until June of 2026, though I can see President Trump extending this period.

If you have an analytical mind and can deal with the tedium of such a task and stick to it for the duration, we might be able to assemble quite a synopsis of what's going on.

Again, I haven't decided, but I want to hear the thoughts of those members who are dedicated to this forum, and, again, if this thread is created, it doesn't mean DOGE stuff would have to cease being posted in the Trump thread. This is an instance in which it would be OK for certain things to be cross-posted.

One way or the other, though, we've got quite an anniversary coming up this June. While we're not alone, because other forums have created a series of threads like ours over the post decade, perhaps theirs are a bit more scattered about, or may have been pruned over the years. In years to come- way down the road- it may be that we have created a sociological record of real-time reaction to this period of American political history, with people reading what we've posted, long after we are gone.

It's all pinned to the top of this section- with no breaks, from June, 2015 to the present.

Hard yes. I would even go so far as to suggest it's own forum to keep things fresh and findable versus a single thread that will no doubt go 1,000+ pages

I agree with this idea. Trump thread should be about Trump and his direct actions.

DOGE is a separate entity that operates at Trump's direction but is run by Musk.

It would certainly make it easier to decide where to post newsworthy info.

+1 for needing its own forum.

That way releases can be their own threads, and discussed there.

I agree with the idea of a separate DOGE thread, but agree also that archiving those posts in The Trump Presidency V, VI, VII, VIII threads is a good idea.

I’d be honored to be tasked to help with curating the DOGE information in these threads.

I’m opposed to a DOGE thread. Yes, Trump V goes off in all directions, but a DOGE thread would too.

I like EVERYTHING about Trump V in one thread. There would be posts that somewhat belong in Trump V and somewhat belong in DOGE.

And would there be DOGE I, DOGE II, DOGE III, etc?

I do think that unless DOGE is somehow stopped, they will find some deep and broad corruption with the following prosecutions. I think it could diffuse the Trump presidency thread.

Some of us may have already submitted our application for making plea deals.

I offered to do it for costs.

They are going to need A LOT of outside lawyers - on the plus side, so long as we get them to plea to minimum security labor camps, we'd have enough man power to undo a lot of the damage to the national forests, etc. :P

Personally I think this initiative will take on a life of its' own and deserves its' own thread.

So, either way, as long as there's not a new DOGE thread for every DOGE finding or action.

I think a separate DOGE thread would be appropriate because it would be a lot easier to find DOGE related information in a DOGE thread compared to having to sift through multiple Trump related threads.

JMO-if a separate thread is done for DOGE, then everything DOGE should go there and keep DOGE separate from the Trump thread

Eliminate the need to monitor, combine, research all the DOGE things happening.

As you know, I'm for the DOGE thread...since I brought it up.

I'd be happy to keep tabs on it, but I also know I don't have the analytical mind that many other members do. But I'd do my best.

I wouldn't mind a separate DOGE thread. My question for the person updating the thread is where would they get the information besides just keeping their ear to the various newsfeeds? And, obviously, some news source are going to distort the facts with their bias.

A name for an independent DOGE thread could be:

Another Swamp dodge to avoid accountability gets DOGE’d, I.

A stand alone DOGE thread is fine, but its own forum? Nah.

Oh, and I suggest naming it Hot Diggity DOGE.
