The only music streaming service that actually sounds good to me is the pay version of Spotify with high quality sound settings on. I've tried both the free and pay versions of Apple and Amazon music and they just sound tinny and flat to me.


Qobuz is the best for quality hi res.

Tidal is fine but a lot of people (including me) view Qobuz as better sonically.

Cool, thank you. I don’t think the box I bought supports qobuz, but I’m sure I can set a mini-PC up. I’ve been out of audio for years since my gear was stolen in 2014. With three kids, replacing everything wasn’t a priority and we didn’t really have room. With the new house, we have room, one kid is out, another is leaving next fall, so a good stereo and surround system is back on the list. But holy cow, I’m behind on everything.
