It is a prescription drug program offered through Medicare Part D. You have to take a look at what drugs you are taking to determine which plan is best for you. Good luck.

Take a look at WellCare. They have a ZERO cost Part D Rx plan.

You'll get mail trying to convince you to move your MediCare Supplement to WellCare's MediCare Advantage, but you do NOT have to do this in order to get the no-cost Part D Rx plan.

Be sure to check that it covers your meds before switching. It works just fine for my wife and me.

BCBS is trying to convince me to accept "free" part D coverage instead of theirs. A friend and I compared formularies and discovered they are NOT the same. I've heard from other folks that large insurance companies are doing this, because it's cheaper for them to pay Part D than continue prescription coverage.

I am sure hell is full of insurance advisors. The Part D plan has a formulary I believe and your drugs may not be covered. These folks are worse than used car folks. The Medicare Advantage plan is a good example. Your current doctor and hospital may opt out at any time. Considering the reimbursement rate that is rather common. You are now stuck with whomever the insurance company wants you to see. As a rule the Medicare zero deductible plan makes money by paying the physicians less.
