Anonymous phone calls
Use to be able to dial *69 (?) then the phone number and it would prevent yout number showing up on call ID.
Tried today but no go. Is there anyway to do it now?

Yep. You're thinking of *67.

*69 is/was callback. It dials the last number that called you.

If you want to do it for all calls, you may also be able to turn off your outgoing Caller ID in your phone settings, or in your cell phone account settings. We did that to all our issued cell phones at my last agency. Some models of phones could do it from within the phone settings, while others required account-level setting changes. Recipients would just see "unknown number".

I thought *69 would call back the last number to call you.

*67 works.

Burner phones are pretty cheap.

I don't answer the phone when I don't know who is calling. In fact, if I'm close to the phone when it rings, and it shows "name unavailable", I block the call.

Keep in mind that while *67 works for most cases, it doesn't always work.
